The Ohio Amateur Quarter Horse Association is a proud division of the Ohio Quarter Horse Association that concentrates on the interests of adult horse enthusiasts who do not train or show horses professionally. Whether you are a less experienced Novice Amateur, a Veteran Amateur or a Select Amateur, OAQHA welcomes your interest and involvement. We were the first Amateur Association formed within the American Quarter Horse Association and are excited to continue “Leading The Way!”

Giving Back

We are always looking for more ways to give back so we are open to all new ideas and opportunities.  Below are some of the ways we currently give back:

Toys For Tots
Flying Horse Farms Camps
New Vocations Horse Adoption
Annual Pancake Breakfast
Scholarship Fund
Annual Buckeye Classic Horse Show

Mission Statement

Our mission is to promote the American Quarter Horse, to improve and develop the capabilities of the amateur owner, both individually and through group participation, in the breeding, raising and exhibiting of the breed. Throughout the year, we have several events to accomplish these goals, including hosting an annual horse show, participating in several different non profit projects and awarding scholarships to our OAQHA members.

We would love to have you at our monthly meetings!

Meetings are held at 5 pm on the third Sunday of the month at:

Crowne Plaza Columbus North
6500 Doubletree Avenue
Columbus, OH 43229

*The June meeting is held at the State Fairgrounds in Columbus and is a potluck picnic.
